These terms explain how you can use UnitCMS (unitcms.net) and what you can expect from us in return. We’ve written them in plain English. By using this site, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
Who we are
UnitCMS is a new, independent content website. We cover WordPress, Shopify, website builders, headless CMS platforms and news from the wider content management world. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any of the platforms, companies or products we write about, unless we clearly say otherwise on a specific page.
Throughout these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean this site and the people who run it. “You” means anyone visiting or reading it.
Using our content
Everything we publish is for general information. You’re welcome to:
- Read, bookmark and share links to our pages.
- Print or save a page for your own personal reference.
- Quote short excerpts with clear credit to UnitCMS.
You may not:
- Copy, republish or redistribute our articles, in full or in large part, without written permission.
- Present our content as your own, or strip out credit to this site.
- Scrape or bulk-download the site to build a competing resource, dataset or product.
- Sell, license or otherwise make money directly from our content.
The text, layout, original images and other material on this site belong to us unless we credit someone else. Using the site doesn’t give you any ownership of that material.
No professional advice
Our guides, comparisons, tutorials and news coverage reflect our research and opinions at the time of writing. They are not professional advice. That includes technical, legal, financial, tax, security and business advice.
Choosing a CMS, migrating a store, changing hosting or editing code can have real consequences for your website and your business. Before you act on anything you read here, check it against your own situation. Where the stakes are high, speak to a qualified professional. Back up your site before making changes. We can’t stress that one enough.
Accuracy and changes
We work hard to get things right, and we try to check facts against official sources. Still, the platforms we cover change constantly. Pricing gets revised, features ship or disappear, plugins are updated and interfaces get redesigned. Something accurate on the day we published it may be out of date when you read it.
Because of that:
- We don’t guarantee that any content is complete, current or error-free.
- Prices, plan details and feature lists should always be confirmed on the vendor’s own website before you buy.
- We may update, correct or remove content at any time without notice.
If you spot a mistake, we’d genuinely like to hear about it. You can reach us through the contact options on this site.
External links and third-party services
Some pages point to other websites, tools, themes, plugins, apps or services. We include them because we think they’re relevant, but we don’t control them. We aren’t responsible for their content, availability, security, pricing or privacy practices.
Visiting a third-party site or using a third-party product is your decision, and their own terms and policies apply. A mention on UnitCMS is not a guarantee that a product is safe, suitable or still supported.
Trademarks
Product names, company names, logos and brands mentioned on this site belong to their respective owners. WordPress, Shopify and every other platform we discuss are trademarks of their owners. We use these names only to identify and discuss the products. Their appearance here doesn’t imply any partnership or endorsement.
Acceptable use
We want the site to stay fast, safe and useful for everyone. When you use it, please don’t:
- Try to hack, overload, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the site or its servers.
- Upload or send malware, viruses or other harmful code.
- Use automated tools to scrape content or hammer the site with requests.
- Use the site for anything illegal, fraudulent or misleading.
- Impersonate us or anyone else.
If the site ever offers comments, contact forms or other ways to send us material, please keep it lawful, respectful and relevant. Spam, abuse, hate speech and anything that infringes someone else’s rights are not welcome. We may remove submissions or block access at our discretion. By sending us something, you confirm you have the right to share it and you allow us to use it in connection with the site.
Limitation of liability
In plain words: you use this site and its content at your own risk.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss or damage that comes from using, or being unable to use, this site. That includes lost data, lost revenue, lost profits, downtime, broken websites or any other direct or indirect loss, even if you followed a guide published here.
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don’t promise it will always be online, error-free or free of harmful components, although we take reasonable care to keep it secure.
Nothing in these terms tries to exclude or limit any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Privacy
How we handle personal information is covered separately in our Privacy Policy, which you can find on this site.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we add new features to the site or when the law changes. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. The version posted here is the one that applies. If you keep using the site after an update, that means you accept the revised terms, so it’s worth checking back occasionally.
Questions
If anything in these terms is unclear, or you’d like permission to use our content in a way not covered here, please get in touch through the contact options on this site. We’re happy to help.
